Major Playoffs, Larger Payoffs at Xbox Madden 10

If learning about all the new stuff still hasn't made you excited about Xbox Madden 10, then maybe a visit to video gaming's not-so-distant past can put things into perspective. Yeah, it could be a bit cruel to constantly bag on older games as a means to elevate today's football video games. On the other hand, after a closer examination of the older football video games, it's easier to comprehend why Xbox Madden 10 has been at the center of such unadulterated adulation. Certainly, there was a huge, untapped market for football video games, when the first generation of console games made their debut. But the catch was, the power of the early video game consoles didn't exactly equal the imaginations and desires of those early hardcore gamers, so everyone had to settle for less. If you've ever seen old ads for this one, the creators truly believed that it had "all the excitement" of the real deal.

They didn't even try to make those guys look like people. Rough, but true. And if the picture has you cringing, you can only imagine what the gameplay is like. From a technological standpoint, things were so basic, that multiple players moving at once meant that the only thing extreme about this game was the flickering of the players. Sound effects didn't fare much better, with the "spectators" sounding more like a car with a busted muffler. Again, things like the scrolling screen wouldn't be a required part of any game for a while yet. Soon, the first round of the console wars would begin, and the competition created a football video game of their own. A serious effort was made with this next one, in order to give gamers a football video game closer to the real thing. It wasn't there yet, though. No doubt, it was a real exciting time for hardcore gamers, but there was still a ways to go before football video games would dominate the industry. Several years would pass before that came to pass. The next level in football video games had been reached, and still we're seeing a following for this one. If you were to ask a gamer from the 90s what their favorite sports video game was, this one would crack the top 5 list.

Why this went supernova isn't hard to figure out - with actual offensive and defensive strategies, they brought in a new level of realism. It was an amazing evolution in football video games, and this one was really a major turning point. With the online revival, today's gamers are getting a taste of yesteryear - and loving it. However, it doesn't even come close to what Xbox Madden 10 offers. With the great strides in gaming, football video games have reached a level worthy of the fans. So, yeah, no point in calling out the old football games. We think you understand. You have to start somewhere, and those other games did - and Xbox Madden 10 would have never been possible if it weren't for those older football video games. Hardcore gamers have every reason to be fired up - Xbox Madden 10 really is the winning touchdown. The reviewers have spoken, and they're as stoked as the gamers, which is always a cause for celebration. Xbox Madden 10 reviews tend to feature statements such as "realistic and enjoyable." Xbox Madden 10 is another monster hit for EA Sports, though we think you could predict that one. To hell with the people who bag on Xbox Madden 10 - it truly is the best football video game out there. Not to put down any other Xbox sports video games, which have certainly earned their solid rep, but Xbox Madden 10 is just the best of the best. Most of the gaming world agrees that this is the new standard by which the rest shall be judged. If you're really ready to show your stuff, you can separate yourself from the pack and face off for big bucks. The stakes have been raised, and Xbox Madden 10 maniacs now can take each other on for some serious cash. After you've really given yourself a crash course and learned all the rules, you'll score touchdown after touchdown - and make off with your rival's bankroll as well.
